Brooklyn-based performers Underground Horns (www.myspace.com/undergroundhorns) will kick off the Fulton Street Welcome Center today, with their “audio gumbo” of funk, jazz, hip hop and brass band traditions, spiced up with African and Latin rhythms.

On Court and State Streets, On Wax, a group of vocalists inspired by the Harlem Renaissance and the great days of Motown, perform.  Created and organized by Kuson Parson of Inner Merit (Myspace.com/innermerit), he and 5 vocalists: Siraj Nuri, Ali Redwine, Stephcynie Curry, Michael Syfax and Donnell Baldwin, make up this original and dynamic collective.  Blending the sounds and genres of Soul, Jazz, Pop and R&B, On Wax manages to feed a spectrum of interests with variety and style.
